Thanks to the support of the Chinese and Western medical experts, the preparations for the 7th World Congress of Chinese Medicine Oncology were proceeding smoothly. The first batch of speakers and the introduction of the presentations are being issued. With more speakers and presentations being finalized, the second batch will be issued before September 1. Dr. Jeffrey Zhongxue Mah ( Ma Zhongxue) , Ph.D., graduated from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, received the Master’s degree from Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Doctorate of Medicine from Qinghai University School of Medicine. He was named one of the 26 academic leaders of the Beijing University System in China in 1992. In 1996, he came to the United States and founded consotherapy - an academic system of evidence-based Chinese medicine oncology. Engaged in medical practices and teaching for more than 40 years, he has written more than 10 books and published more than 100 papers. He is currently the president and professor of the University of Chinese Medicine located at San Francisco Bay Area.

Since 2003, the concept of “Green treatment of tumor” in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) - emphasizing the constitution change and quality of life in treating cancer patients – has become a prominent theme in cancer therapy . Enhancing anti-tumor immunity of patient is key for cancer therapy. The presentation discusses the new development of the anti-tumor immunity and the contributions from TCM. The main contents of the lecture is as followings:
1. TCM supporting healthy Qi and enhancing immunity:
Immuno-oncology (IO) is an area in oncology research with many discussions, including tumor vaccine, immune mediated monoclonal antibody(anti-pd-L1), CART, oncolytic virus, etc. Chinese medicine has been shown promising beneficial effects in the areas of 1)promoting cellular immunity, including Killer T cells, tumor suppressor related cytokines (TNFa, TGFb), CART; 2) enhancing humoral immunity including antibody production, recombined antibody, and 3) improving complement activity and levels. The anti-tumor immunity properties of TCM herbs includes regulating Qi,nourishing Yin, promoting fluid production, nourishing Yin and tonifying blood, and Kidney Yang.
2. One of the main goals of biomedicine is to kill and remove tumor cells . such as small molecule tumor targeted suppression and immune-mediated therapy. Minimally invasive surgery, Low dose radiotherapy, and radio-frequency ablation regulate cyclic nucleotides in tumor cells and promote the transformation of tumor cells to normal cells. Research has shown the tumor cell killing properties of certain Chinese herbs including promoting blood circulation, resolving blood stasis, removing phlegm and dampness, resolving hard lump, and removing heat and detoxification.
3. Changing the microenvironment in which tumor cell grow.
Chinese medicine has been shown have properties of anti-tumor angiogenesis and block the stimulation of certain hormones on which some tumor growth relies, such as prostatic cancer and breast cancer.
4. The animal models of tumor immunotherapy.
In short, the research on TCM treatment of tumor can make full use of theories and concepts of modern medicine to expand the understanding of TCM anti-tumor effect and develop new medical pathway and theories

Introduction
Dr.Lihua Zheng, Director of the National Engineering Laboratory Experimental Center for Drug Gene and Protein Screening in China. She received PhD of Biology from Northeast Normal University, Master of Pharmacy from Jilin University; and Bachelor of Clinical Medicine from Bethune Medical University. She has undertaken more than 20 major national scientific research projects. She has published more than 50 SCI papers in internationally renowned academic journals, obtained 5 national invention patents, and won 6 provincial and ministerial scientific and technological achievements awards. Her current research focuses: 1. Discovery, identification and new drug development of anti-tumor natural drug small molecule compounds; 2. Screening of effective components of anti-tumor compound Chinese medicine and mechanism of action; 3. Genes and protein targets of anti-tumor effects of traditional Chinese medicine chemical components the study.

Topic: Clinical evaluation of acupuncture for side effects of cancer after chemotherapy
This study conducts a comprehensive systematic search of the clinical research literature on acupuncture treatment of side effects after chemotherapy through a systematic review of evidence-based medicine. Literature was screened based on strict inclusion and exclusion criteria. Methodological evaluation of the quality of the literature was performed using the Cochrane risk of bias tool. The study combines the results of each study after analyzing the heterogeneity of similar studies was analyzed. The results of this study provide objective evidence-based medical evidence for the clinical efficacy of acupuncture in the management of side effects after chemotherapy.

Introduction
For over a decade Dr William Dawson has been a friend and follower of Dr. Mah Zhongxue who have many stories of their adventures together to tell. Dr Dawson is the owner and Chief Resident of Hopewell Medical Acupuncture - Cheng Knowledge Center which is the North American CAM International Headquarters which is recognized by the WHO World Health Organization. Located in Sunnyvale California for the past 11 years this facility is known for highly advanced acupuncture treatments and herbal formulations, computerized diagnostics and proprietary treatment regimens. Dr. Zhang is a professor and vice president of University of Herbal Medicine and a researcher in TCM, health services research, policy and administration and unique background in integrative medicine. She graduated from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, practiced integrated medicine employing both TCM and biomedicine in China. She received her M.S. in Health Policy and Administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Ph.D. in Health Services Research, Administration and Policy from the University of Minnesota. She served as faculty at New York College of TCM and lecturer at San Francisco State University. Dr. Zhang is the lead author of the book chapter Traditional medical practices of Asian Americans and the influence of traditional medicine in the United States in Praeger Handbook of Asian American Health: Taking Notice and Taking Action.

Cancer remains one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. It was estimated about 14.1 million new cancer cases and 8.2 million deaths occurred in 2012 worldwide. Because of the demographic change and aging of the population, as well as an increasing prevalence of life style risk factors such as smoking, overweight, physical inactivity, and changing reproductive patterns related to economic development, the morbidity and mortality of cancer is predicted to be increased in the next few decades. It is projected that by 2030 an estimated 21.4 million new cases of cancer and 13.2 million cancer deaths will occur annually around the world, which brings an enormous burden on society. The presentation discusses the incidence and cancer caused mortalities world-wide with the role and prospective of Chinese medicine as adjunct therapy as well as cancer treatment modalities based on clinical trials and research studies of single herbs and herbal formula prescriptions.

Introduction
She graduated from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine in 1982. After graduation, she was engaged in clinical and postgraduate teaching at Xiyuan Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences. After many years of study with Professor Xu Jianzhong, a master of Chinese medicine, he participated in the research of "Guben Pill" Chinese patent medicine, which won the first prize of scientific and technological achievements of the Ministry of Health of China. She has been invited to give lectures in Hungary, Singapore, Malaysia and the United States, and has been widely reported by local TV stations, newspapers and magazines. She has unique clinical experience in acupuncture and Chinese medicine treatment for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and gynecological diseases. During her tenure as a professor at University of Herbal Medicine, she lectured on TCM clinical medicine courses and clinical teaching and was widely welcome by students.

In 1971, American scientists extracted paclitaxel from yew. It has been clinically proven that paclitaxel is effective against various cancers, especially for the treatment of prostate cancer, ovarian cancer, breast cancer and lung cancer. This lecture discusses the anti-cancer efficacy of the original plant of Taxus chinensis as a traditional Chinese medicine.
